CAH is a genetic condition affecting the adrenal glands' ability to produce key hormones properly. It can cause a range of effects depending on severity. From salt imbalances and poor weight gain in infancy, to early puberty or ambiguous genitalia at birth. Early diagnosis matters, since untreated CAH can lead to serious complications, but with the right ongoing care, children with CAH can grow and develop well.
